Pen Rider & Cattle Doctor position

Reeder Cattle Company is a large, growing, and respected backgrounding cattle operation located in Texas, New Mexico, and Alabama.

We are currently looking for Pen Riders and Cattle Doctors for our Stratford, Texas and Russellville, Alabama locations.

Pen Riders are responsible but not limited to the following:

• Proficent in recognizing sick cattle using minimal stress in pulling cattle
• Perform all cattle handling activities related to receiving, processing, sorting, moving, re-vaccinating and shipping
• Proper care of equipment and property maintenance – inspect equipment, use and construction of electric fence, 5 wire fence repair and water systems
• Work and communicate with management toward overall business goals and maintaining accurate records

The ideal candidate will be dependable, be a team player, be able to understand and follow the company’s set protocols, be able to identify sick cattle, have knowledge of low stress cattle handling, and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Cattle doctors are responsible but not limited to the following:

• Proficient in doctoring cattle physically and on computer according to company protocols using minimal stress on cattle
• Perform all cattle handling activities related to receiving, processing, sorting, moving, re-vaccinating, and shipping
• Proper care of equipment and property maintenance – inspect equipment, use and constructiion of electric fence, 5 wire fence repair, and water systems
• Work and communicate with management toward overall business goals and maintaning acccurate records

The ideal candidate will be dependable, be a team player, be able to understand and follow the company’s set protocols, be able to handle cattle, follow instructions, and have knowledge of low stress cattle handling and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
